    clock

    brass table clock, round with superimposed alarm. Iron movement - pillars, plates and wheels, slender gut fusee with 7 turns, train consists only of fusee great wheel, second wheel, contrate wheel, crown wheel, omission of third wheel is achieved by large great wheel and second wheel, balance wheel is uncontrolled, its two arms banking against fusee square, balance cock is of brass, pinned to plate and not original, two of the three pillars each have two projections carrying train wheel pivots, movement has 12-hour duration and single hand, alarm mechanism is also all iron, spring arbor carries a contrate wheel driving a crown wheel pivoted from are projecting from one pillar, alarm movement held in its case by screw in bottom, case is gilt chased brass, dial has engraved Roman numerals 1 - 12 and Arabic numerals 13 - 24, case bottom engraved with a woman stabbing herself and the word "Lucretia" (Lucretia Borgia 1480 - 1519)
