    The annunciation (maker's title)

  • Description

    bronze and enamel panel of rectangular form attached at two places on the reverse to a rectangular perspex support. Titled `annunciation' the traditional theme is depicted in three separate scenes using primitive bird-like, instead of human forms.

    The left section features a high relief form standing behind; the central section comprises of six equidistantly placed high relief columns, the spaces between the central three enamelled cobalt blue and broken up visually by a trail of yellow dots moving from the lower left to the upper right hand side; the right hand panel featuring a high relief crouching winged bird like angel form; the wing of which protrudes above the natural border of the piece; behind which are three high relief columns; the whole surface with a dark patination excepting the egg which has been highly polished. No. 1 of an edition of 6.
