  • Description

    Garment, dress/ shirt

    Worn by a chief of the Hausa people. Made from cloth and cotton thread. The garment is made up of strips of loom woven cloth textile that is coloured indigo. The garment has long wide sleeves, calf length hem, a circular neckline that has a thin V shape at the front centre. The front sides have embroidered designs in white thread of knots surrounding to vertical slits in the garment. The inside hem is lined with a pink fabric with horizontal designs.
