  • Description

A kete whakairo woven by Rangi Kiu. Two very large square spiral motifs decorate each side, along with a single small white feather. The rim is finished off with a double whiri braid. Half of the strips of harakeke have been taken in to the lower whiri and the rest into the upper whiri. A fine whariki join closes the bottom of this kete whakairo. The muka handles are bound onto the rim with all the knots and the ends of strips displayed.
