    Abein. Covered basket. This is a hand woven coiled basket made with handles and a removable lid. It consists of two main material components such as te noko (coconut midrib) and te ira (pandanus leaf). It is cylindrical in form, tall in height with a smaller diameter. The base if flat, it is also where the weaving of the coiled noko begins. The top of the abein closes in to form a flat rim and circular opening. , Abein. Covered basket.

    This is a hand woven coiled basket made with handles and a removable lid. It consists of two main material components such as te noko (coconut midrib) and te ira (pandanus leaf). It is cylindrical in form, tall in height with a smaller diameter. The base is flat, it is also where the weaving of the coiled noko begins. The top of the abein closes in to form a flat rim and circular opening. A flat circular lid in the same weave style as the body of the abein has been made as a cover. Two woven handles of te ira have been attached to the upper sides. One handle has been knotted at the centre. Dyed dark brown te ira has been used to create decorative patterns across the abein, lid and handles. The rim and lid also show specs of a red dyed te ira in the woven structure.
