  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) with dyed apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decorative) overlay. Flat pentagon shape (bottom edge ending at a point). Flap with single pupu (shell) for toggle with thin rauara cord as a catch. Kete is woven in right angle/straight check. Natural colour with dyed-red apuraka akamanea (decorative) overlay. Single tatai (handle) braided with natural rauara and dyed-red rauara strips.

    Flap has decorative chevron created from red overlaid apuraka strips. Red akamanea overlay of a flower motif at the back, two downwards pointing chevrons and letters [A r r] on the body of the kete.
