  • Description

    Water carrier, gourd and basket

    Made from calabash, cane, palm fibre, and wood. A hollowed gourd with spherical body and ovoid neck, hole at top centre. The gourd is covered by a basket woven with cane in wicker technique. The basket sits at the bottom of the neck and covers the body of the gourd, a tall flared foot at the base. The handles are made from twisted palm leaf fibre pass through the basket base and comes out on opposing sided and wraps around the neck of the gourd. The cane and gourd are coloured a dark brown
