    Palm Handle (maker's title)

  • Description

    vase, flared rim, tapered neck and baluster body, and two applied 'palm tree' handles applied to each side. decorated in bright polychrome enamels, a series of playful streamers, in red, yellow, and blue, twist up the surface of the vase towards a black rim which has been etched with fine marks reminiscent of Pacific weaving. The background surface has been coloured with a delicate pink enamel; the interior is decorated with a bright sky blue.

    The applied palm leaves project off the side of the pot, one frond up into the air, and the other against the neck and shoulder of the vase, which connects to more leaves that have been painted to the side of the pot in bright 'lettuce green' and black spots, each Palm has a trunk which descend down to the footrim.
