  • Description

    clay pot, (for indigo dye), NAI TAUM. Nila leaves are used to make black and blue dye for cotton. The cotton and nila leaves are soaked in cold water for one week for blue; to produce black the leaves are removed after one week but the cotton remains in the dye for a further two weeks [Pers. communication with vendor from Taela Tefa, translated by Marselinus Besa at Boti, 1992]
