    Souser-iret-binet

  • Description

    mummy. Mummy, female (Souser-iret-binet 27-35 yrs) probably Lower Egyptian family. Obtained from Canterbury Museum in 1957. Mummy is from Akhmim, Egypt. CT scanned in 2002, and xrayed in 1970?ish. Four year conservation project carried out in early 2000s. Radiocarbon dates obtained on linen wrappings, with date range of 850-575 BCE i.e. mid-late Third Intermediate Period to early Late Period.
