It has been used to form a decorative woven encasment portraying a checked pattern. The sides feature a pattern beginning with the bone claws of waro, four wii ni bakoa, another claw of waro, three wii ni bakoa, another claw of waro, two wii ni bakoa and finally a coxa (a base component of waro leg). The bone claws of the waro are barbed with curved points. They're naturally off-white in colour. However some of the points have fractured. The coxa show a serrated, barbed edge and are also a natural off-white colour. Perforations have been drilled into the waro parts and wii ni bakoa. The parts have been positioned along the rod between two pinnules of noko. A fine two-ply strand of kora has been threaded through the perforations and used to lash down the parts of the noko and across the rod creating a parallel pattern of waro parts and wi ni bakoa. The pointed tip of the ree ree shows where the ira has become loose.
