    Coconut shell vase (English)

  • Description

    Ipu popo. Coconut shell ornamental vase. This ornate ipu constructed with two popo (coconut shells) mounted to a wooden stand appears to be a contemporary design perhaps of European influence. It is brown in colour. It was collected by J. H. Robinson, who was a customs officer in Samoa from World War I until 1930.
