    pounder, fern root. Handle reduced in width and thickness and has a square end. The body of the beater has a rounded end and irregular cross section which is more rectangular than round. Width 78 m, thickness 42 mm. Possibly not a fern root pounder, but a club for eels. Recent cut marks present on one side. Found in a swamp at the northern end of the tombolo.
