    Ki‘i. Idol figure. This ki‘i is carved from lā‘au (wood) into a stylised human figure in a standing position. Carved from a cylindrical block of wood, this ki‘i is ovoid in cross-section, stands with its hands drawn together in front with tongue protruding from its open mouth. It is depicted with leaf-shaped eyes. This ki‘i is likely modern in construction, intended for the tourist market. It is heavy in weight, brown in colour and its surfaces are polished.
