  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) with dyed-brown apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decorative) overlay. Rectangular in shape. Commencement at base and finished at the rim. Has one tatai (handle) of natural coloured raurara and dyed-brown/red apuraka worked into iri taki a (4-ply round braid). Decorative lozenge motif on either side of the bag using apuraka in open checker pattern. Previously attributed to Samoa.
