  • Description

    Te ili. Fan. This ili consists of a woven blade attached to a long wooden handle. The blade of this ili is woven with kaumoe (young coconut leaf) in a coiled technique producing a spade shape overall. The kaumoe has a natural colour. Additional fibre, dyed in red and black colours are incorporated into the weaving, which appears to be fou (wild hibiscus fibre).
