  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Kete is woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with dyed-red/brown apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). Rectangular in shape. The kete has a patara (serrated) decorative rim. Decorative dyed-red/brown apuraka is overlaid to create two horizontal bands of patara (zig-zag) motif spanning the length of the kete. One horizontal band towards rim of kete, the other towards the base.

    The rest of the kete is woven from natural coloured rauara. Single tatai (handle), detached at one end.
