  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with overlaid dyed-red apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). Rectangular flat shape. One end approximately two cms longer than the other end. Woven in check. Commencement at base. Pattern of diagonal red bars along the length of the kete with overlaid dyed-red apuraka strips (three strips wide). Upper rim is woven into patara (serrated) edge.

    Single tatai (handle) made of rauara and dyed-red apuraka sewn to the kete with cotton thread.
