    Homebrew barrel

  • Description

    Tumunu. Large coconut tree stump (tumu meaning stump, nu refering to coconut tree) fashioned into a homebrew barrel. Carved and hollowed out interior, rough to the touch. Four 'feet' carved at base to balance the barrel on the ground. Heavy. Brown colour with grain of the coconut wood showing through. Varnished exterior surface though lightly scratched. Decorative border around the rim.

    Letters carved in large font around the circumference of the exterior reading 'MAPU MAI T. P. 2nd Dec 83".
