    Pounding mortar (English)

  • Description

    Tumunu. Shaped and hollowed section of coconut tree trunk intended as a container for pounding homebrew ingredients or can be used as a stump to sit on when turned over. Rough hewn interior. Exterior left in natural rough surface with bark still intact. Interior of the base jagged and roughly carved to aid the grinding and pounding of homebrew ingredients. Brown colour. Peppery scent from ingredients pounded in the tumunu.
