Pareu. Skirt. Made from kiriau (hibiscus fibre). Bundles of dyed green kiriau are wrapped around two two-ply twisted cotton cords. A single-pair of twining is tied across the bundles of kiriau (approximately 20mm below the waistband cord). An additional two rows of twining are tied across the bundles of kiriau (approximately 40mm below the waistband cord), further defining the waistband. Seven tassels hang approximately 120mm from the top of the waistband.

Each tassel consists of a puka seed with a bundle of natural coloured kiriau threaded through a puka seed attached to cotton thread that is tied to the two rows of twining.
