    Shield

    Made from buffalo hide, wood, and wire. A long rectangular shield with pointed corners. The body of the shield is brown coloured buffalo hide that is warped. At the front of the shield is a long thin ridge running down the centre of the shield with metal arches running down either side of the ridge. The corners of the shield are wrapped with silver coloured metal wire. Visible repairs have been made to the front of the shield with fine stitches. The reverse has a wooden support pole running down the centre that also functions as a handle at the mid section of the shield, the pole is secured to the shield with stitching and braiding with leather string
