  • Description

    Reru. Pounder. Used for pounding food and also used for pounding ingredients for dyes and medicine. Carved from a single piece of toka Mangaia (stalactite). Flat pounding surface. Reduction from base to form cylindrical grip. Top of the pounder is formed into a transverse concave bar (unique Mangaian stylistic feature). Conical in overall shape. Surface highly polished. Cream and grey colour.
