  • Description

    Rongorongo. Glyph board. This is a rongorongo carved from one piece of miro pupu (type of wood). The miro pupu is rectangular in shape with a oval cross-section. The rongorongo (glyphs) are carved on either side of the board. In total there are five rows of rongorongo on either side of the board. The rongorongo are shaped like human, animal and geometric shapes. It is still unclear what the purpose of rongorongo was in Rapa nui.
