    Moai kavakava. Ribbed moai. This is a moai kavakava made from one piece of wood, bone and obsidian. The wood is a dark brown colour and appears to be varnished. The moai kavakava shows an emaciated male figure with prominent kavakava (rib cage), spine and facial features. The eyes of the moai kavakava are inlaid with shark bone and obsidian. Moai kavakava are thought to be representations of ancestors.
