  • Description

    Tairiiri. Fan. Composite tairiiri woven from rito (young coconut leaf) attached to mauranga (handle) parau (mother of pearl shell). The blade is woven with natural coloured, dyed-green, and dyed-orange rito, with plaited commencement at base of blade. Woven out in check (approximately 25mm) with approximately 120mm of akaverevere (fringe) formed with strips of rito. Holes are drilled in the mauranga parau which the rito is attached to.
