  • Description

    Tika. Throwing javelin. The tika comprises of a long cylindrical wooden shaft and a fakaulu (dart head) which is bulbous and pointed. The fakaulu is heavy, and made of hard wood. Fakaulu can be made from tika, kieto, toi or gigie wood. The shaft is light in weight and colour of wood. Large crack along the side of the shaft. Brown cotton thread lashed around the shaft at the top of the shaft. 'F.A. TALIMA TUAPA NIUE IS 1979' is written in pen ink on the shaft.
