  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Flat and rectangular in shape. shape. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with dyed-brown/red apuraka (giant swamp taro) overlay. The kete has is finished with a patara (serrated) rim. Overlaid pattern is known as punarua (row of natural coloured squares, each standing on one corner). There are two rows of punarua, separated by an area of natural-coloured pandanus.

    Dyed-brown/red apuraka and natural-coloured rauara strips form single iri (braid) handle.
