ornament, hanging

human history
  • Common Name
    Adornment
  • Description

Hanging ornament. This ornament is made from sialemohemohe (wild tamarind) seeds and has hana (Job's tears) seeds as well as different shells as embellishments. The ornament itself resembles the shape of hanging pot plants and has circular levels from which strands of sialemohemohe (wild tamarind) and hana (Job's tears) shells extend and hang from.

There is a large hanging strip that has "MELEFAILA" written out in hana (Job's tears) seeds, perhaps this was the name of the owner or maker.
