Two pinnules in light brown have been curved along the edge of te iriba and secured down with a pinnule of te kakoko. Additionally two layers of off-white burae ni moa have been secured between the woven surfaces upon the front and back of the fan. A slim, cylindrical shape starts from the centre of te iriba and extends outwards to form a handle. The spine of the handle is encased with a plain woven cover of off-white pinnules from te kakoko. The tip has been decorated with a synthetically dyed purple pinnule, the mid section features a bright pink and purple surface decoration and the base end has a black dyed strand threaded through the weave. A small cord of te kora (cordage of coconut sennit fibres) in a mid tone brown have been attached to the base of the handle creating a small loop for hanging te iriba.
