    Pulou kokoma. Pressed hat. This is a hand made pulou kokoma. The pulou kokoma is made from lau (pandanus leaf). The pulou kokoma is a natural beige colour with a woven texture. The fale (brim) is wide and circular. The fua (crown) is also circular however the centre of the crown has been kokoma (pressed) to create a groove. Around fua is a band made of fenū (young coconut leaf) and kaulama (dry coconut leaves) which has been further reinforced with lau.

    Pulou kokoma were made to be worn by males.
