    Coil of plaited hibiscus fibre (English)

  • Description

    Maea. Coil of plaited fibre. This is a rope made of fau (hibiscus). The rope is a beige colour and braided using a fili lautolu (three-ply) technique. The rope is quite thin and is knotted at either end to ensure the braid does not unravel. The rope is coiled into a small circle and is wrapped in a thin strip of fau to hold it together.
