    Lave lau. Thatching implement. This is a lave lau made of gagie. This lave lau is light brown with a smooth unpolished surface. The lavelau is narrow and cylindrical in shape with pointed ends. Near one point is a rectangular indent. Lave lau were used to tie thatching to beams of fale Tokelau (Tokelau house). The lave lau is held by an individual inside the roof and poked through the thatching to secure it.
