    Olo ufikie. Washboard. This is a hand made olo ufikie made of taiuli (wood from the kanava tree). The olo ufikie is rectangular in shape and curved along the short edge. The olo ufikie is a dark brown colour and has a rough unpolished surface. The olo ufikie is grooved along the middle. These grooves would have been created using an ili (saw). At one end of the olo ufikie is a pair of holes which may have been used for a suspension cord.

    Olo ufikie were used to clean clothes by rubbing them against the grooves in the middle.
