    Split whale's teeth neck ornament (English)

  • Description

    Wasekaseka. Whale tooth necklace. Consisting of twenty eight whale teeth, ivory/beige in colour. The teeth are long, narrow, and curved in shape, with pointed ends and bored bases. The teeth are threaded onto a cord woven from magimagi (coconut sennit). Additional cords, woven from magimagi, are wrapped around the base cord and in-between each tooth. There are cracks, dark brown/black in colour, visible across some the teeth.
