  • Description

    Pōvai. Club. This pōvai is carved form a single block of toa (iron wood), it is smooth, polished and dark brown in colour. This pōvai is sort in length and cylindrical in shape, the entire pōvai is carved except for a small unmarked section at the base of the handle. The carvings consist of geometric lines and patterns which have been meticulously carved onto its surface.

    pōvai were used by men and warriors in times of combat and warfare, pōvai like this one are used in close contact combat to strike and stun ones opponents.
