  • Description

    Lā‘au melomelo. Fishing stick. This lā‘au melomelo is made from a long club-like segment of lā‘au (tree branch) that is wider in diameter at one end and narrows to a point at the other. The wood is dry and untreated with a length of twine cord tied at the narrower end and running three-quarters of the length of the wood. The lā‘au melomelo is dark brown in colour.
