    bangle (alternative name)

  • Description

    Ankle ornament of [brass]. Circular shape with ridged section around the outer edge. Narrow pillar of metal under each ridge connecting it to the ornament, with gaps between each pillar. Ornament is in two parts, held together with [wooden] pins through aligning holes. Larger part of ornament is approximately two thirds of circle circumference and smaller part is approximately one third of circumference. Dark brown [clay] used to fill recess in ornament interior.
