    Head ornament (English)

  • Description

    Ei katu. Headdress. Made of apuraka (stalk of the giant swamp taro). Mulitple strands of apuraka are woven with the ends loose and curled. Cloth is wrapped and sewn onto a base consisting of wire at the top and bottom. The woven strands are sewn onto cloth using cotton thread. Natural golden brown colour.
