  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from toka (stone). Dark in colour. Trapezoidal cross-section. Dull cutting edge. Bevel surface concave towards cutting edge. Front of blade is slightly rounded. Prominent shoulder reduced to butt. Rounded butt. Flaked poll. Large shallow chip at poll end. Surface of the adze is lightly polished with areas of pecking still visible.
