  • Description

    gambling sticks in a deer skin bag. 59 polished wooden sticks with rounded ends. Some are decorated with coloured stripes, slashes and bands, in the colours red and black. Four have incised decorations such as circles or crosses (on ends). Bag is an envelope type with the closing flap attached a long leather thong that wraps around the body and secures itself with a horn toggle at the end. Collected at Baranof Island / Sitka, Alexander Archipelago Alaska.
