  • Description
Foufou. Headband. This is a hand woven foufou. It is made from both lau fou (lace bark) and lau fā (pandanus leaf). lau fā has been used to form the circular foufou. Lengths of lau fou have been used to weave over the two bands of lau fā portraying a plaited finish across the head band piece. An embellishment made of lau fou has been attached to the area where the bands have been closed off and stitched together. The embellishment features a pom-pom style piece with twirled ribbons and a bow made of the same material fibre. The entire foufou has retained its natural pale yellow colours.
