cup

human history
  • Description

cup made of a piece of thinned wood, that has been bent in a circle perhaps with the aid of steam. This has then been lashed with some plant reed? and at one side the wood continues straight to form a handle. A separate piece of wood has been added to the base to form the cup. The cup is decorated with a carved line border on top and bottom and which has then been coloured red (now faint), the red extends down the handle.
