bow drill with mouth piece

  • Description

    mouth held drill point with bow. Mouth piece in wood which is gripped in teeth with ivory segment on outside with an indent to hold drill point in place. Drill point has a point at one end and is lashed with plaited sinew. Drill bow is made of ivory with a sinew cord which loops around the drill point. The ivory is decorated with a row of drilled dots.
