  • Description

    Kumete. Bowl. Used for domestic purposes - food carrying and presentation. Kumete is tear drop shaped. Carved from rakau (wood), possibly tamanu (mahogany). Kumete's rim is carved into a spout at one end with a blunt front surface. The other end of the kumete has a small raised knob as a means to grip. Four feet carved on the base for the kumete to balance on.
