    Stone pounder (English)

  • Description

    Reru. Pounder. Used for pounding food or ingredients for producing dyes. Carved from a single piece of stalactite. Overall shape is conical. Pounding surface at base is flat and exhibits much wear and scratching. Reduction from base to form cylindrical grip. Top of the pounder ends with a curved transverse bar. Surface is roughly polished and scratched. Light amber in colour with variations towards darker amber in some areas. Heavy.
