    Pare. Hat. Made from fernland reed, Miscanthus floridulus, kaka'o. Construction by plaiting long decorative bands from this fibre, then it is machine sewn into form of hat. Commencement is from the top of the crown. The rim is decorated with five flowers, five semi-circular shapes, and aravivi (chain), all made of kaka'o. The rim has a scalloped edge. Natural golden brown in colour.
