  • Description
    Saqa Basaga. Water vessel made of qele (clay) with a 3-armed handle. Spherical in shape. Coated in makadre (resin from the Dakua tree). Hole in the centre-top of handle for suspension cord. Single orifice near centre-top with i gaga (pouring spout) at waist of vessel. The arms of the handle are decorated with protrusions. Bands of decorative lines incised across upper areas. Somuna (decorative spots of applied qele) decorate the upper area and around waist. There is a band of slanted lines, below the row of somuna, around the waist. Light coloured markings visible across upper area.
