  • Description

    Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with overlaid dyed-brown/red and dyed-black apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). Large in size, with flat, rectangular shape. The kete has is finished with a patara (serrated) rim. Overlaid dyed-brown/red and dyed-black strips of apuraka form surface patterns consisting of a row of twilled threes along both the upper and lower areas of bag.

    Mirrored patara (zig-zag) patterns decorated with rows of ara veri (twilled twos) are across the middle area of kete. Two tatai (handles).
