    rebec, small wooden, three stringed, golden coloured, diamond shaped scroll with three large wooden pegs on front surface, soft round body made from kauri and cedar, with vellum trim, two half circle sound holes

    on either side of the raised tailpiece, holes are surrounded by rewarewa (?) inlaid into the top, fingerboard of puriri ir kohekohe (?), tailpiece of rock maple - also serves as a bridge, rosewood pegs
